About Palmetto Moon

Palmetto Moon first began in the fall of 2002. Karen and Bob Webster found they were “empty nesters” after their youngest daughter left home for new adventures at Clemson. This departure left them with an opportunity to start a new beginning for the next phase of their life. They both had backgrounds in retail, as well as a passion for it, so they decided to open a business together.

They recognized a void in the Charleston market for South Carolina collegiate gear, and a demand for “anything and everything” with the South Carolina state flag. They decided it would be fun to test the waters over the holidays with a temporary kiosk at Citadel Mall. The kiosk sold both collegiate and palmetto merchandise, as well as jewelry, handbags, and other novelty items. The kiosk proved to be a success and eventually developed in to a permanent in-line store at Citadel Mall. Before they knew it, their daughter and son-in-law joined them in the business. Palmetto Moon has since expanded in to two additional locations; one in Mt. Pleasant, SC and the other in North Charleston, SC.

In addition to collegiate and South Carolina merchandise, Palmetto Moon also carries the largest selection of CROCS and Rainbow sandals in South Carolina. Palmetto Moon has also become the regional headquarters for brands such as Guy Harvey, Costa Del Mar, Eliza B., Havaianas, Olukai, and more.
