We’re so proud to share that Palmetto Moon, along with The Bishop Family Foundation, helped fund a new bus for Pattison’s Academy! Pattison’s is a local organization that serves children with multiple disabilities by providing comprehensive education and rehabilitation programs. They provide an incredible amount of support for disabled children and their families in the Charleston area, so when we found out about their need for a second bus, we knew we had to help. We are so glad to give back to this amazing organization any way we can! (See more of the story by WCIV Channel 4!)

The new Pattison's Academy bus, sponsored by Palmetto Moon and The Bishop Family Foundation!

Pattison’s just received its new bus in the beginning of April 2012, and it’s already in use. The brand new bus seats a maximum of nine children with space for six wheelchairs, and transports children to and from Comprehensive Education (PACE) Charter School, where educational curricula is integrated with functional rehabilitation instruction. The bus is also used to transport children to and from aquatic and hippotherapy sessions.

This summer, Pattison’s Academy will utilize the bus during its therapeutic summer camp. For four weeks in June and July, the program allows children from around the community or and in the Charleston Tri-county area the opportunity to take advantage of therapeuticactivities, take multiple field trips, and work with physical, occupational and speech therapists. We’re delighted to help Pattison’s Academy and are so proud to support their efforts!
